E-waste
In my computer science class I had to watch to videos on what we call "E-waste". Basically E-waste is the technology that isn't being used and is being sent to areas for destruction. All the parts of technology have hazardous materials in them for human beings. Companies now-a-days are "Designing for the dump" which basically means that every 18 months your current technology has become obsolete and there is already an upgraded version of it. You buy a new laptop and within the year your laptop could be considered obsolete because so many new upgrades and versions have already been added. These companies send the hazardous technology to poor countries and expect them to deal with our problems. Perhaps we should stop searching for ways to improve our technology and start looking for ways to improve our health and the health of the people all around the world. These hazardous materials in monitors, phones, and computers can damage vital organs like the lungs and the heart. This E-waste is very dangerous to the people involved and it really needs to stop.
